Cooling and Air Conditioning System in the Prophet's Mosque

The air conditioning system of the Prophet's Mosque is one of the largest cooling systems in the world, designed to the highest standards of quality to meet the needs of visitors to the Prophet's Mosque. This advanced engineering system reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to provide the utmost comfort to the guests of Allah, enabling them to perform their worship in a comfortable and reverent environment.

Cooling Technologies:

Utilisation of chilled water, distributed to heat exchange units precisely and automatically.

There are 101 air handling units equipped with multiple stages for air purification.

Location of the Station:

The central cooling station is located 7 kilometres from the Prophet's Mosque.

Cooling Method:

Water is cooled to 4 degrees Celsius.

The mosque is cooled using air that is pushed through pipes connected to the pillars.

Used water is returned to the central station through insulated pipes to maintain efficiency.

System Statistics:

Number of chillers: 6 chillers.

Total capacity: 20,400 tons of cooling.

Total area of the station: 70,000 square meters.
