The Etiquettes of Visiting the Rawdah
Video Transcript
Dear visitors, when you first visit the Prophet's Mosque, it is recommended that you make your way to the noble resting place of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his two close companions Abu Bakr As-Siddiq and Umar ibn Al-Khattab—may Allah be pleased with them—through the designated walkways from Bab al-Salam, Gate No. 1. Approach the Prophet's grave with the utmost respect and with lowered voices, greeting with,
"Peace be upon you, O Prophet of Allah, and Allah's mercy and blessings."
Then, slightly move to your right and extend your salutations to Abu Bakr As-Siddiq—may Allah be pleased with him—saying,
"Peace be upon you, O Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, and Allah's mercy and blessings. Peace be upon you, O Caliph of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the second of the two in the cave. May Allah reward you on our behalf and on behalf of Islam and Muslims with the best of rewards ."After that, move a little to your right and then greet Umar ibn Al-Khattab—may Allah be pleased with him—with,
"Peace be upon you, O Umar Al-Farooq, and Allah's mercy and blessings. Peace be upon you, O second of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. May Allah reward you on our behalf and on behalf of Islam and Muslims with the best of rewards."
Dear visitor, it is imperative to recognize the status of the Prophet's Mosque, to respect its sanctity, maintain tranquility and serenity within, and exhibit proper decorum during your visit. Ensure not to inconvenience other attendees by keeping noise to a minimum, refraining from crowding, and by not seeking blessings by physically touching things. Please listen to instructions from the staff.
