Zamzam water is considered one of the most blessed and revered waters on earth among Muslims. As stated in the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), “It is blessed, it is food that nourishes, and a cure for illness.” Since the time of the founder, King Abdul Aziz ibn Abdul Rahman Al Saud (may Allah have mercy upon him), and continuing into the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman ibn Abdul Aziz Al Saud (may Allah preserve him), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made significant efforts to serve the guests of Ar-Rahman, including pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors, by providing them with Zamzam water.
Watering Management at the Agency of the Prophet's Mosque Affairs
The Agency of the Prophet’s Mosque Affairs has established a dedicated Watering Management department. This department oversees the periodic analysis of Zamzam water in the agency’s laboratory, the filling of containers with both cooled and uncooled Zamzam water, and the supervision of distribution points and their cleanliness. It also manages the Zamzam water filling station in the western courtyard, designated for individuals and mosques, and ensures the cleanliness of the carts used to transport containers.
More than 12,000 Zamzam containers, 30 portable containers, and 1,000,000 drinking cups are distributed. Over 50,000 Zamzam water bottles are provided daily in the Prophet’s Mosque, alongside 800,000 cups distributed at drinking fountains in the outer courtyards.
