The Library of the Grand Mosque was established by the order of His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, then President of the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. It was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region, on Saturday, 22 Rajab 1434 AH. The library is part of the services provided by the General Authority, housing a rich collection of books and volumes in various fields, including Arabic language, history, biographies, and general knowledge.
Location and Space
The library is located on the second floor of the King Fahd expansion of the Grand Mosque, covering an area of over 800 square meters.

Mission of the Library
The Library of the Grand Mosque seeks to enhance the scholarly and missionary message of the Two Holy Mosques. It is part of the guidance, counseling, and educational services provided to visitors. Its establishment aligns with the directives of the Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques, who prioritize offering the highest quality services to the guests of Ar-Rahman. The employees of the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque take pride in this mission and work diligently to achieve it.
