The air conditioning system of the Prophet’s Mosque is one of the largest cooling systems in the world, designed to the highest standards to meet the needs of its visitors. The system utilizes chilled water, distributed precisely and automatically to heat exchange units.
It includes 101 air handling units equipped with multiple stages for air purification.
Location of the Station
The central cooling station is located 7 kilometers from the Prophet’s Mosque.
Cooling Method
Water is cooled to 4 degrees Celsius.
The mosque is cooled using air pushed through pipes connected to the pillars.
Used water is returned to the central station through insulated pipes to maintain efficiency.
