The Yemeni Corner, the southwestern part of the Noble Ka’bah

The Yemeni Corner is the southwestern corner of the Noble Ka’bah, aligned with the corner containing the Black Stone. It is called the Yemeni Corner because it faces towards Yemen. It is recommended for pilgrims performing Tawaf to touch it in every round without kissing it, and to say between it and the Black Stone: “Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”

What distinguishes the Yemeni Corner is that it stands on the original foundations laid by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Its virtues are highlighted by Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), who narrated that the Prophet (may Allah’s salah and salam be upon him) said: “Touching the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner removes sins.” This was authentically collected by Ahmad. Imagine how many sins are washed away each time a pilgrim touches this blessed corner!

Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet (may Allah’s salah and salam be upon him) said: “The Yemeni Corner will come on the Day of Judgment greater than Abu Qubais, with two tongues and two lips.” This narration is sound, collected by Ahmad.

Despite enduring incidents such as earthquakes, the most recent in 592 AH, the Yemeni Corner has remained steadfast. Allah has made it a symbol of resilience and faith, standing as a testament to a long history of care and attention through the ages.

Thus, the Yemeni Corner remains a pulse of light in the heart of the Noble Ka’bah, carrying within it the supplications of believers and the tears of the repentant, remaining a place where Allah is remembered and where the blessings of mercy and forgiveness shine.
