The Vision's Programmes and Initiatives

The Definition and Establishment of the Authority

An independent public authority with legal personality, financial and administrative independence, organizationally linked to the King. It is responsible for operations, maintenance, and development related to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, contributing to the highest levels of care for worshippers, visitors, and pilgrims—based on the transformation decision No. (61) dated 1445/01/21 AH. It aims to elevate service levels in both mosques to enable worshippers to perform their rituals with ease, tranquility, and comfort.

Organizational Arrangements of the Authority

Supervision

Supervising all matters related to the Noble Ka’bah, including the production, maintenance, and preservation of its cover.

Supervising all operations, maintenance, and development activities related to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

Overseeing all translation activities connected to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, in coordination with relevant entities.

Supervising the affairs of the Mushafs within the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

Coordinating with relevant entities to oversee volunteer activities within the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, including diverse services provided to visitors, without infringing upon applicable regulations.

Participation

Contributing in organising entry and exit procedures for the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. In addition, regulating the presence of licensed guides from the Presidency of Religious Affairs within the Grand Mosque. Likewise, implementing necessary preventive measures in coordination with relevant entities.

Participating in the planning and design of construction projects in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, and monitoring their execution.

Initialisation

Preparing all services within the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque for visitors.

Managing the endowments and donations of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, as entrusted to the Authority, without infringing upon the jurisdiction of the General Authority for Endowments and Donations or the conditions set by the donors.

Handling any tasks or responsibilities assigned to the authority through regulations, requests, or directives.

About the Authority

The National Excellence Award for Individuals with Physical Disabilities.

The Golden Excellence Medal in the category of presidencies, councils, and centres for its distinction in transitioning to a merit-based accounting system.

National Excellence Award in the field of community initiatives for government entities, in the government sector.

Third place in the "Best Strategy for Customer Experience" award, through the "Guiding Visitors to al-Rawdah al-Sharifa" project, part of the Customer Experience Forum.

The General Authority for the Care & Management of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque achieved second place in the Distinguished Section Competition in the government sector category at the Hajj Conference and Exhibition, confirming the efforts made in enhancing the visitor experience.

Award for the best entity offering solutions—programmes—policies. This includes a focus on the sustainability of assets and facilities, at the 22nd International Conference on Asset, Facility, and Maintenance Management.
